Oregon Artist Featured in National Magazine
Portland area artist, Blenda Tyvoll, is the subject of a full page write up in the summer 2012 edition of Country Gardens Magazine - a special interest publication of Better Homes and Gardens.
Portland, Oregon, August 3, 2012 -- Blenda Tyvoll, an award winning artist who has been selling original art paintings and giclee prints of her work online since 2005. One web shop that features her artwork is known as Dirt Couture, an online garden boutique. The Country Garden Magazine article introduces Dirt Couture's unique collection of handcrafted garden items to their readers. Blenda's work was showcased in the summer 2012 magazine edition as one of Dirt Couture's artisans in a full page article.
Her latest series of artwork depicts fanciful trees with birds perched and playing amongst the branches. Colorful backgrounds are often textural and collaged with pieces of vintage dictionaries, wallpaper, and maps peeking through layers of paint.
"My tree paintings really speak to people" says the full time artist. "To me a tree symbolizes harmony and unity with nature and all living things." Bluebirds and other songbirds often sit on tree branches or wires in her one of a kind canvas paintings. "I see them as a metaphor for family, love and freedom."
